Let's Go All The Way
Marcus Aurelius, the last of the so-called Five Good Emperors, has a very powerful quote that says "You could leave life right now. Let that determine what you do and say and think."
I love those words.
It's easy to forget that everything around us is a gift. I mean c'mon, we are given TIME on this planet, during a time-period where so much is possible. The only thing that holds people from going after what they want is the story, or shall I say, the EXCUSE they keep telling themselves.
Marcus' quote reminds me that everything is a choice. If I surround myself with people who encompass the VICTIM-MINDSET causing me to lose hope, then it's my fault. If I have a bunch of great ideas and don't act on them, then it's my fault. If I have an incredible story that might help others and don't share it, then it's my fault.
We all have a choice. We all have the ability to take BACK the wheel and say "Ok, it's my time to drive."
Life is too short to spend it with people who radiate bad energy. Life is too short to spend it going to a job that you hate. Life is too short to put off those bucket list items (like writing a book).
Last month I visited New York City for the first time of my life. Later this month I will be attending a large Entrepreneurship Conference in Las Vegas for the first time. In 2018, I will continue to see every place on my MUST SEE BEFORE I DIE list. And I owe it all to the 9 years I spent building the right business vehicle. Just as important, I owe it all to the entrepreneur's mentality - DO WHAT YOU LOVE. DO IT ALL THE WAY. IF YOU DON'T, SOMEONE ELSE WILL HAVE ALL THE FUN.
