Your story should be fun (to live and to tell)

Looking back on my hockey days, it's obvious that I always played my best hockey when I was having fun. If I wasn't enjoying what I was doing, who I was playing with, and where I was going, I played terrible. Once it became a chore, I no longer wanted to practice, hone my craft, or excel. In essence, the want to be great faded when I wasn't in love with what I was doing.

When I was really enjoying myself, I played looser, more freely, and pushed myself harder. It was easier to win when I loved it.

It's been a few years since I strapped on the skates, but I never forgot that principle. In fact, I apply it to my business everyday. If it's not enjoyable, I can't be the best at it. So, I do everything in my power to make it fun.

My job is to help people market themselves through a book. That, in itself, is such a rewarding experience. I hear their story, understand what they want to accomplish, and help turn their words into something that will help them get where they want to go. With the help of my brilliant ghostwriters, we bring their story to life.

I love meeting new people, hearing their stories, helping them write their books, turning them into bestsellers, and seeing them use our system to reach new people via social media. In turn, thousands of people's lives can be changed.

If that's not fun, I don't know what is.

What I realized is the people who I meet really want to talk about their lives because they enjoy it. Their enthusiasm for who they are and what they want to accomplish is truly contagious. Not only do the readers of their story feed off their excitement, but I do too! It's apparent they enjoy telling their story, but more importantly, it's obvious they enjoy LIVING IT.

I guess, in a way, that is what makes them great at what they do. I know for a fact it's why they are able to affect so many people's lives.

The reality is this:

PEOPLE WANT TO WORK WITH THE BEST.

AND THE ONLY WAY TO BE THE BEST IS TO LOVE WHAT YOU DO.
