The look in a person's eyes will tell you everything you need to know about them. Are they tired? Are they desperate? Are they strong? Are they weak? Are they hungry? Are they driven? Are they craving something? Are they curious? Are they lost? Are they focused? Are they in pain? Are they lying? Are they evil? Are they good? Are they lazy? Are they the real deal? Whatever your need to know, look into their eyes.
I believe there is a story behind every emotion a person feels. There's a reason why they are angry in certain situation. Theres a reason why some people don't give up. There's a reason why some people dream bigger than others. By helping people bring their story, I get to hear people's whys and hows. It brings a smile to my face every time.
One of my favorite Tom Petty songs is "The stories we could tell". It always reminds me of why I wanted to be an entrepreneur. The truth is I wanted to experience life in its entirety. Entrepreneurship is my way of accomplishing that mission. The difficult path a business owner takes will provide stories, lessons, and experiences that will never end.
When I meet with people that are looking to start their first business or write a book, I see a common trait that is difficult to explain to the non risk-takers. The look in their eyes says it all. They are hungry for more in life, bored with their current employment, and ready to take action. Deep down, I believe they fear the same thing I do: To have some feeling of regret for not going all out for their dream.
