Mike Fallat at CCAC North Campus
Today, I was asked to be a guest speaker at the CCAC North campus to talk to the business club about entrepreneurship. As I was speaking to the class, I could not help but think about what I was thinking as a 20 year old. I was impressed to see these students get out of bed and come to the meeting at 7:30 am.
During my speech, I talked about the many times I have fallen during my entrepreneurial journey. The main focus was on positioning yourself to succeed in this world no matter if you start a business or work as an accountant.
Marketing, as I always say, comes down to 1) telling your story, 2) positioning, and 3) leverage.
If you don't position yourself in the correct way, then use the leverage acquired to thrive, you will fail.
I reiterated this over and over to the class.
In addition, DreamStarters' upcoming author, Michael Daniel, Founder of Nighthop told his story of entrepreneurship, too.
He talked about the importance of solving a problem when it comes to business development. I could not agree any more with this statement! In 2008, I ignored this business essential and paid dearly for it. I won't make that mistake again.
It was truly an honor to be able to share our journeys with the students at CCAC and I look forward to going back to see them soon.
Thank you Leslie Doyle and the entire Business Club.
